Where Do I Send My Taxes and Payments?

Personal Online Payments to the IRS**

Online payments can be made via ACH (checking account) at IRS Direct Pay. Click "Make a Payment."

  • Select your reason

  • Select your form type

  • Select your tax year

Payment for E-file Return: Make sure you select "Balance Due - Income Tax - Form 1040 - 2021" to apply payment to the correct year.

Payment of Quarterly Estimated Taxes: Make sure you select "Estimated Tax – 1040ES (for 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ) - 2022" to apply payment to the correct year.

Payment with Extension of Time to File: Make sure you select "Extension - 4868 (for 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ) - 2021" to apply payment to the correct year. (Unavailable after 4/15!)

**YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY USING A PRIOR YEAR FILED TAX RETURN INFORMATION** (IE - 2020)

Corporation/Trust/Partnership Estimated Payments and Final Tax Payments must be made through EFTPS.

If you do not have EFTPS setup, it can take a month or two to get the paperwork processed, so in the meantime you can pay by Debit or Credit Card online. Click here for your payment options (all have credit card processing fees attached).

Paper Filing Your Tax Return or Tax Payment***:

  • Please note the different PO Box numbers for different Form Types.

  • Always send your paper copies signed with non-electronic signatures.

  • Always mail your tax forms by certified mail with a proof of mailing. Keep the proof for your records.

  • Always list your SSN on your tax payment check, if applicable. This will ensure that your payment is applied to your SSN.

***Use USPS AND send as CERTIFIED MAIL AND keep the receipt for your tax records. FedEx and UPS will not mail to PO Boxes***
